Five Score And Seven Years Ago by Relient K
Release Date: March 6, 2007

This is Relient K's fifth album since 2000 (Hint: album title). Relient K somehow always seems to top their previous
album. This album has a much different feel than Mmhmm, which was a much darker album than Five
Score And Seven Years Ago. The album starts off with a short intro, Pleading The Fifth, it's about a man that
believes John Wilkes Booth was wrongly accused of Lincoln's death. That is followed up by the Pop-Punk song Come Right
Out And Say It. Then is I Need You, which is possibly the hardest song on the album. The lyrics in this
song talk about a cry out to God. Next is The Best Thing, this song also shows Matt T's songwriting ability. Then
is Forgiven, it starts out with just piano, but it nicely proggresses into a good song about forgiveness. Must
Have Done Something Right is the next track, which was the first song released off of this album. It is a very different
song, but it still blends in well with the album. Give Until There's Nothing Left slows things down. Following that
is Devastation And Reform, which is my personal favorite off of this album. The whole song just flows so well together! The
next track is I'm Taking You With Me and it is also a Pop-Punk song like Come Right Out And Say It and
The Best Thing. Then is Faking My Own Suicide, this song almost sounds country in the beginning, this song was
first released with Matt Thiessen And The Earthquakes on the album My Other Band. After that is a 12 second song,
Crayons Can Melt On Us For All I Care, which say "I just wasted ten seconds of your life". Then is Bite My Tounge,
which is also a personal favorite. Matt Hoopes actually had to talk Matt T into putting the song onto the album. Up And
Up leads up to the 11-minute song Deathbed, which talks about a man with Cancer and he accepts Jesus into his
heart at the end (Jon Foreman of Switchfoot actually is God at the end of the song).
