Come Now, Sleep by As Cities Burn
Release Date: August 14, 2007

In 2006, As Cities Burn broke up and then got back together after all of the support from fans. But one member wasn't
able to come back, TJ, the vocalist. So Cody, the guitarist and TJ's brother, took over vocal duties. If you have ever listened
to their previous album, Son, I Loved You At Your Darkest, then you noticed the unique voice and scream of TJ. Cody does a
good job of taking over vocals, but dosen't quite have the ability. The first track, "Contact", is a soft opening song
that is very long (almost seven full minutes!!). This track's lyrics say "Won't You Come Down From Heaven"; Cody does
a good job with lyrics on this album just as TJ did on Son, I Love You. The next track, "Empire", is more what you'd
expect to hear on an As Cities Burn album. This song is a great track and is one of the best on the album. "The Hoard"
is the third track and a great one at that, and for a while I could have sworn that it was TJ singing, Cody does a great
job on this song!!!! "This Is It This Is It" follows and was one of the first songs released. The past three tracks in a row
are my personal favorites. The fifth song is "Clouds"; it's a five minute song that isn't anything special. After "Clouds"
is "New Sun"; this song is also another interesting song, but the guitar and drums are great on that song. The seventh song
is "Tides", and is one of the harder tracks on the album. After that is "Wrong Body", which is a short and soft song. The
ninth track, "Our World Is Grey", which is a good song to come before the 15-minute closer "Timothy". Overall,
a great effort by As Cities Burn. It's always tough to be dealt a loss to your band, especially when it's your front man.
I was expecting to be letdown by this album, because I thought that nobody would be able to replace TJ, but Cody did well.
I enjoyed this album, but it still wasn't quite as good as Son, I Loved You At Your Darkest.
